RECREATION DEPT: Lead Audio/Visual Technician

Part time – Up to 25 hours per week.  Responsible for setup and operation of all audio and video equipment as required for facilities activities. Sets up and properly store microphones, monitors, cables, stands, speakers, CD/MP3 players, and other equipment.  Must be able to independently operate all audio equipment (digital and analog) for concerts, plays, speeches, and other various functions.  Computer skills necessary for M7 mixing console. Must be able to climb and balance. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.  Requires excellent public relation skills in dealing with artists and presenters.  Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Summary: Responsible for setup and operation of all audio and video equipment as required for facilities’ activities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Set PA speakers, mixers, monitors, microphones and all other related cabling according to technical rider/ performance/event specifications.
  2. Independently operate all audio equipment (digital and analog) for concerts, plays, speeches, and other various functions.
  3. Set up and operate all video equipment and required accessories.
  4. Set stage risers/set pieces according to technical rider/performance/event specifications.
  5. Properly store microphones, monitors, cables, stands, speakers, CD/mp3 players, projectors and all other related equipment.
  6. Use intercom headset to communicate with other technical personnel, and work closely in tandem with others to achieve desired effects.
  7. Notify the Technical Director about any equipment or repairs needed.
  8. Actively support Hot Springs Village POA, Manager’s, and Director’s policies and directions.
  9. Regular attendance is required.
  10. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor.

Able to work at heights of more than 20 feet with a safety harness (provided). Able or willing to learn how to drive and execute a scissor lift on stage. Must possess good judgment and common sense. Must be able to multitask and manage time.

Education and/or Experience High School diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one year (two or more preferred) commercial audio technician experience is required. Working knowledge of Yamaha M7CL preferred. Knowledge of DMX lighting protocol and operations is helpful but not required.

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must exhibit excellent public relations skills in working with artists, presenters, and audience.

Computer Skills Computer skills are necessary for operation of digital mixing consoles, other associated audio                  equipment, and video operations.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Requires a valid Arkansas driver’s license and clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.
