GOLF COURSE LABORER: ALL GOLF COURSES – CONTINUOUS OPENING

Temporary Position not to exceed six months.  Must be 16 years of age or older.  Must be able to understand and carry out oral and written directions.  Must have mechanical ability to operate and work with golf course maintenance equipment in a safe and efficient manner.  Moderate to heavy lifting required.  Must be able to safely operate walk-behind mowers for long distances over an extended period of time. Must be able to work in outside weather conditions, both in hot summer months and cold winter months.  Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays if needed within the guidelines of the Arkansas state wage and hour regulations. Preferences for specific courses can be made on the application.  Interviews/Selections will be made as openings become available. E.O.E.

SUMMARY   Maintains grounds and turf of golf course in playing condition as directed by Maintenance Supervisor by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Mowing greens, raking and edging sand traps, weed eating as directed by a qualified employee.
  2. Operate walk behind mower in safe and orderly manner; reporting any and all equipment deficiencies.
  3. Waters greens and spot waters course as directed.
  4. Digs and rakes ground to prepare greens, grades and cleans traps, and repairs cart paths.
  5. Wear and maintain all personal protective clothing and equipment as required.
  6. Drive utility carts in a safe and orderly manner.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
  8. Regular attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

REASONING ABILITY   Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
