CORONADO FITNESS CENTER MAINTENANCE WORKER

Part Time Position – 12-20 hrs. per week.  Involves swimming pool operation and maintenance, building maintenance and operation, basic mechanical maintenance and janitorial services for the Natatorium.  Must be 18 years of age or older and requires valid Arkansas drivers license and clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.  Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.  Some heavy lifting required.  Applications will be accepted through Friday, October 5, 2018. SUMMARY Appointed by the Coronado Fitness Center Manager. Keeps premises of the Coronado Fitness Center in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, breakrooms, restrooms and other work areas.
  2. Performs light building maintenance and janitorial duties.
  3. Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, vacuums and polishes floors.
  4. Cleans and polished lighting fixtures, floor surfaces, and trim.
  5. Power wash pool area decks and locker rooms and front entrance to the facility.
  6. Safely perform aerial work as needed.
  7. Cleans carpets, furniture, blinds, windows and doors.
  8. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Mops floors.
  9. Replenishes bathroom supplies. Replaces light bulbs.
  10. Requires working in all types of weather conditions.
  11. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays, if necessary, and be able to work independently, without supervision.
  12. Pool maintenance is required.
  13. May be required to drive POA vehicle or personal vehicle while conducting POA business.
  14. Regular attendance is required.
  15. Any other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  16. Deliver outstanding customer service, making every effort to accommodate customer needs.
  17. Ensure the safety of patrons and staff through accident prevention and safety policy, enforcing all facility and recreation location rules and regulations.
  18. Have a thorough knowledge of rules, regulations, and operational use with regard to POA amenity use.
  19. Maintain a safe, clean amenity/facility at all times.
  20. Report to supervisor any safety materials needed or maintenance concerns.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Employee must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays and be able to work independently without supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in building maintenance.  Must have experience or willing to learn the use of audio-visual equipment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.  Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Requires a valid Arkansas driver’s license and a clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.
