SUMMARY   Prepares various food products for restaurant and banquet operations, guest consumption, and enjoyment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Prepares sufficient quantities of food product in accordance to production plan or forecast needs.
  2. Wraps, dates, and rotates food items.
  3. utilizes whole food products eliminating waste.
  4. Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation standards in assigned areas.
  5. Alerts chef or supervisor of any equipment breakdowns, food overages, or shortages in a timely manner.
  6. Requisitions inventory and receive supplies as necessary for daily production.
  7. Ensures proper storage of food items.
  8. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  9. Must be able to work nights, weekends or holidays.
  10. Regular and reliable attendance required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma, general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS   Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.

REASONING ABILITY   Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
