BARTENDER/SERVER

Part Time Position – Serve food and drinks in a professional manner.  Maintains bar and serves guests in accordance within established standards and with hospitality and professionalism.  Must be 21 years of age or older and be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.  Performs opening and closing duties which include, but are not limited to: inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking.  One to two years experience in a club type facility preferred.  E.O.E.

Summary  Serve food and drinks in a professional manner. Maintains bar and serves guests in accordance within established standards and with hospitality and professionalism.  Must be 21 years of age or older and be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Performs opening and closing duties which include, but are not limited to: inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking.
  2. Stocks bar, mixes and serves alcoholic beverages, assists in cost control, inventory, and maintaining inventory records.
  3. Maintains inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products.  Communicates with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed.
  4. Ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by management.
  5. Communicates guest requests and concerns to Supervisor
  6. Accountable for checks and cash transactions.  Utilizes Point of Sales System.
  7. Reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events.
  8. Serve catered parties from service or portable bars.
  9. Serves meals to guests as needed.
  10. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  11. Regular and reliable attendance required.

 

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Possess knowledge of cocktail recipes, wine varieties, and origins. Neat personal appearance. Good public relation skills. Ability to operate cash register.

Education and/or Experience   One to two year’s experience in a club type facility preferred.

Language Skills  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.

Reasoning Ability    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.  Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
