Terry O’Dell Featured Performer for June 19 Open Mic

The fourth HSV Open Mic Night, is scheduled for Monday, June 19, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., at the Coronado Community Center, 150 Ponderosa Lane, Hot Springs Village, AR.

The event organizers encourage Village-area performers (musician, singers, poets, short-story writers, thespians, comedians, and others who wish to showcase their talents) to sign up to perform (first-come, first-served). There is no charge for admission.

The feature performer (for a thirty-minute set) for March is Terry O’Dell. Terry is a finger style guitarist who is the instrumental coordinator for Mountainside Church. He plays many different instrumental styles including classical, jazz, Spanish style, thumb picking, and contemporary. In the last three years he has competed at the annual Ozark Folk Center’s Thumbpicking Contest, in the contemporary division, finishing second and third.  He will be performing several original compositions for the open mic and will have conga accompaniment with Todd Breedlove.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a cash bar available. Performances will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Individuals and groups who wish to perform are encouraged to sign up in advance via email to Performers are allowed up to a maximum of ten minutes to perform on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those who sign up in advance will be scheduled first. If time is available, additional performers may take the mic at the discretion of the emcee, John Chapman.

HSV Open Mic Night is an opportunity for Hot Springs Village area residents to share their musical, writing, and other performance talents. In order to maintain a cordial and friendly atmosphere, performers (and the audience) are asked to stay away from politics for the evening.
