Street Maintenance
Ongoing maintenance of Village streets is the
responsibility of the Property Owners' Association. There are over 400 miles
of paved roadways and approximately 25 miles of asphalt are resurfaced each
year.
Street Maintenance is also responsible for the
mowing along the right-of-ways of the Village streets. Village streets are
mowed in the springs and fall.
Water/Wastewater
The Property Owners' Association is responsible
for providing water and wastewater services to Hot Springs Village.
The Village's water plant is located on Lake
Lago, Hot Springs Village's only water reservoir, and is staffed 24-hours a
day, 365 days a year.
The Village has two wastewater treatment plants,
Mill Creek and Cedar Creek. These two plants are licensed, permitted and
approved by the Environmental Protection Agency through the Arkansas
Department of Environmental Quality.
An independent lab performs testing on samples
from both treatment plants on a weekly basis.
In 2005, the Hot Springs Village Property
Owners' Association began using treated water from the Cedar Creek treatment
plant to provide a source of water to irrigate the Magellan and Isabella
golf courses.
They also provide maintenance on water and
wastewater lines throughout Hot Springs Village.
Building/Vehicle Maintenance
Building and Vehicle Maintenance is responsible
for the upkeep, general maintenance and labor on POA facilities and
vehicles. Many projects are conducted "in-house", thus providing savings, by
using the labor and experience of these staff members.
Construction
The construction division of the Department of
Public Works is responsible for the installation of all water, wastewater,
and utility installations for new construction in Hot Springs Village.
