Hot Springs Village, Arkansas
Fire Department
Hot Springs Village has four fire stations
located throughout the Village. There are 18 paid firefighters who work 24-hour
shifts, in three shifts, each shift working ten days a month. There are also 30 volunteer firefighters that
assist the fire department.
The Hot Springs Village Fire Department service
area is approximately 26,000 acres inside the Village. They also assist the
surrounding volunteer fire departments under a mutual aid agreement.
The fire department provides extrication
assistance to the Hot Springs Village EMS service for accidents inside the
Village and for northern Garland and northwest Saline County upon request.
The Village Fire Department currently maintains
a Class 5 rating from the Insurance Service Office (ISO). The ISO rating is
a factor in determining the cost of insurance to be paid by property owners.
The lower the number, the higher the rating.
The Village is currently a Firewise certified
community.
Firewise
The Firewise program is a
fire prevention concept in which an entire community is encouraged to plan,
construct, and maintain residences in such a way as to reduce the danger
from wildfire. This program is designed to educate developers, builders,
governmental entities, and homeowners in techniques that are effective in
accomplishing a safer community.
Assessment of
Village homes is complete and the Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Community
Wildfire Protection Plan has been written.
