DeSoto Family Recreation Area
The DeSoto Family Recreation Area is a place of
fun for all ages.
Miniature golf, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts,
playground equipment and an indoor facility for ping pong, movies, pool, air
hockey and more are available for use by all property owners and guests.
Parents Caution
The recreation area is not intended as
childcare. Children are not fully supervised unless they are enrolled in the
Play Day Program.
If you need supervised care for your child or
grandchild, they should be enrolled in the summer Play Day Program or
enrolled in a licensed childcare center.
Children on our playground are not supervised.
Outside Activities
The DeSoto Family Recreation Area features a
multitude of outdoor play activities for all ages. There are two hard
surface tennis courts, four pickleball courts, and two basketball courts. Volleyball, badminton, and
tetherball are also available, as well as space for informal play.
Playground equipment is located in various areas
around the recreation area and picnic tables and grills are provided.
Inside Activities
The fun doesn’t stop outside either. The
approximately 3,000 square foot activities building was completed in 1999.
Two pool tables, ping pong, skee ball, foosball,
air hockey, televisions, movies, a video game station with games, board
games, building blocks, children’s toys, and a piano are all
available for inside play.
A snack bar is also located inside the facility
stocked with many choices of favorite foods.
Special Activities
The DeSoto Family Recreation Area hosts a
variety of special events throughout the year: an Easter egg hunt, Fourth of
July celebration, children and youth lock-ins, three-on-three basketball
tournaments, Halloween party, and a Christmas party with Santa.
Summer Activities
The recreation area is available, as always, to
those who want to use the facility on their own. However, during the summer
months, the DeSoto Family Recreation Area also offers structured programs
for children ages 5-6 and ages 7-12.
The Play Day program provides all day activities
and entertainment.
Summer Play Day Program
Play Day sessions begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at
5:00 p.m. The cost for property owners is $11.00 plus tax per day and
participants must bring a swimsuit and sack lunch. The cost for those with
summer memberships to the DeSoto Family Recreation Area is $8.00 plus tax
per day. The cost for non-property owners is $15.00 plus tax per day.
Play Day Activities: The structured Play day
program includes the following activities: miniature golf, arts and crafts,
swimming, tennis, group games, theater fun, water games, and playground
activities.
Rental
The DeSoto Family Recreation Area is available
for rental groups or property owners who are searching for the perfect
location for their next birthday party, family get-together, club meeting or
baby shower.

Note: Persons suspended from either the
DeSoto Family Recreation Area or the DeSoto Pools may not be allowed to
participate or use either facility for the duration of the suspension.
