Hot Springs Village, Arkansas Animal Control
The Hot Springs Village Animal Shelter is a certified shelter and past award winner from the Arkansas State Animal Control Association.
The HSV Animal Welfare League has several hundred volunteers who man the adoption desk, promote public awareness, raise money, and provide funds for veterinarian bills and food.
Animal control officers are responsible for picking up animals, advising property owners on nuisance wildlife, relocating wildlife and providing care for the animals at the shelter.
When an animal is brought to the shelter, the staff inquires about the pick up area. An officer will go through the area and ask about the animal. Shelter staff also check the animals for ID tags and microchips.
All adopted animals are spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter.
The Hot Springs Village Board of Directors recently authorized an expansion of the Animal Shelter. The project was completed early in 2008, and was dedicated on February 28, 2008.
The Hot Springs Village Animal Welfare League donated $50,000 to furnish the new expansion with equipment, supplies and materials. |
